I, ISABELLA CAROLINE ANNIE BLAND Widow of Charles Ernest William Bland a Captain in His Majesty’s King’s own Scottish Borderers deceased of Colsterworth House Grantham make this as and for my last WILL and Testament HEREBY REVOKING all former Wills Codicils and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me AND I DECLARE this to be my last WILL I APPOINT HENRY PHILIP VEREY of 52 Bedford Square London Solicitor and PETER W DICKSON Solicitor of 8 Shipquay Street Londonderry to be EXECUTORS and TRUSTEES if this my Will hereinafter called my Trustees and my said Trustees and each of them notwithstanding their acceptance of the Trusts and acting as my Executors or Executor under this my Will shall nevertheless be entitled to make all such charges professional or otherwise for his or their time and trouble spent in or about the execution thereof as they might properly have made had they been employed and had not themselves been acting as Executors and Trustees of this my Will I DESIRE that my body be cremated and my ashes deposited in my Father’s and Mother’s grave in the old Church Yard at Fintona in the County of Tyrone Northern Ireland AND I ALSO DESIRE my Trustees to put up a stained glass window in my memory in Colsterworth Church at the cost of my estate I BEQUEATH to my Trustees all my rings jewellery silver and furniture upon certain trusts given to them separately to this my Will and so that such trusts shall not form part of my Will and shall not be of any testamentary effect I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my property of which I may die possessed both real and personal to my Trustees IN TRUST to sell call in collect and convert into money the said real and personal and premises at such time or times and in such manner as they should think fit and so that they shall have the fullest powers and discretion to postpone the sale calling in and conversion of the whole or any part of the said premises during such period as they shall think proper without being responsible for loss and shall out of the monies produced by such sale and conversion and out of any ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and shall hold the residue and remainder of my property (hereinafter) called the Trust Fund) IN TRUST to pay or use for the benefit maintenance support and education until she attains the age of twenty five my Granddaughter Susan Petita Neville Clarke an annual sum not exceeding Five hundred pounds a year and shall accumulate the balance of such annual sum by investing the same in any manner the Trustees may think proper until my said Granddaughter attains the age of twenty five and shall as from the date when my said Granddaughter attains the age of twenty five years pay to her the said annual sum of five hundred pounds for her life and subject thereto shall pay the balance of the income of the Trust Fund to my daughter Patricia Ernest de Montmorency Chagan during her life for the separate use and benefit and after the death of my said daughter shall transfer and pay over the said Trust Fund and accumulations if any to my said Granddaughter when she shall reach the age of twenty five years or marries before that age for her absolute use and benefit and if my said Granddaughter should predecease me my said Trustees shall hold my said residuary estate IN TRUST to pay the capital of my said Trust Fund to the British Legion Appeal (Haig’s Fund) of Pall Mall London to be applicable for the general purposes of the said Fund AND I DECLARE that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised official of the said Fund shall be a sufficient discharge for the same I DECLARE that the income hereinafter before directed to be held upon trust for or to pay the same to my said daughter for life shall not vest absolutely in my said daughter but shall be held for the period of her life I AUTHORISE my Trustees to determine what articles pass under any specific bequest contained in this my Will or any Codicil hereto and whether any moneys are to be considered as capital or income and whether any expenses outgoings or other payments ought to be paid out of capital or income and how valuations are to be made or value determined for any purpose and to determine all questions and matters of doubt arising in the execution of the Trusts of this my Will or any Codicil hereto AND I DECLARE that any such determination whether made upon a question actually raised or implied in the acts or proceedings of my Trustees shall be conclusive and bind all persons interested under this my Will or any Codicil hereto I DIRECT that my Trustees shall have absolute power to invest all monies in their hands in any manner they consider proper and at their sole and absolute discretion AND LASTLY IT IS MY EXPRESS DESIRE that my Husband’s War Decorations Medals and Sword and Heads he shot abroad be given to the Regimental Museum of his Regiment The King’s Own Scottish Borders at Berwick on Tweed and the receipt of the Secretary for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees
